Thanks for your very nice review Geoff!

Folk wanting to purchase this splendid CD, can do so via Damien www.thedemonbarbers.com, myself via our brand spanking new wonderful Wilson Family Website, www.thewilsonfamilyalbum.co.uk.

It is being distributed through Proper Music and other outlets, but Damo is more up on all of that!

As you know, myself and Damo are in the middle of a mini tour at the minute, however, I am pleased to say we are not doing anything tonight, which means I can go to The Welly and listen to the wonderful Jim Macfarland.

No doubt I'll see you there?!

Cheers

Mike W

Hope they sing "Oh Westlin' Winds" for you. It would be appropriate, given the date. Mike sang it last Thursday at the Welly unaccompanied and was excellent.

Damien Barber and Mike Wilson (of The Wilsons) have been performing together for some time and have now released an album.

Called "Under the Influence" it is a selection of, mainly, traditional songs.

The tracks are all related to singers who have influenced the duo - though maybe there might just be a passing reference to the Wilsons' legendary appetite for beer <g>

I found this a very enjoyable CD ably performed by the duo with an interesting variety of songs.

My personal favourite tracks are Ewan MacColl's "Joy of Living" and Burns's "Oh Westlin' Winds". Both superbly interpreted.

You can hear a sample on Damien's MySpace Page. The first three tracks currently are from "Under the Influence".

You can buy the CD from Damien Barber's Website
