Subject: looking for artist identification! help! From: GUEST Date: 23 Jan 09 - 03:28 PM i've been going crazy trying to track down the artist for the song "are you washed in the blood of the lamb". i know it's a traditional gospel song, but this band the Wandering Preachers did a remix of the specific recording i'm looking for where they added an intro by Vincent Price and put some annoying ambient tones and thuds in the background, here's the site: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=275951760 they have a pretty bad layout for their page so if the music player doesn't show up in the middle it's usually down in the bottom right hand corner. i want to hear more from the artist and be able to listen to that song without lots of fast forwarding and distracting casio keyboard tones. thanks a lot! |

Subject: RE: looking for artist identification! help! From: Jim Dixon Date: 28 Jan 09 - 01:19 PM I wonder if the web page has been changed since you posted your message. The song I heard in the video is LEANING ON THE EVERLASTING ARMS. (The lyrics are in the DT - click the link.) Strictly speaking, it is not a "traditional" song; it has known writers: Rev. E. A Hoffman and A. J. Showalter. You can view the sheet music at Google Books, in Sowing and Reaping by J H Kurzenknabe, 1889. The video is a scene from "Night of the Hunter" (1955), where it is being sung by Robert Mitchum. |
