Mary McLaughlin is hoping to visit London and Wales this summer and it would help enormously if there were some paying gigs to help her with expenses. There are a few options on offer, all of which could be at clubs, festivals or house concerts - please feel free to pm me with any questions or suggestions!
Option (a): Mary as a soloist, with Gaelic and her own composed songs and some stories
(b) Mary with me as a (very rare) Anonyma reunion - we'd do some songs together and some of our solo repertoires
(c) Mary with me sharing a gig but not necessarily performing together.
(d) Mary and/or me running workshops on singing, storytelling (that'd be me, mostly), Gaelic singing and language (that'd be Mary, definitely!)

I'll probably look into running a house concert here in Pontypool in any case, and I'll be checking out Welsh possibilities (Dr Price/Dame Pattie are you reading this?!) but Mary would love to do some gigs in the London area as well.

All helpful suggestions very welcome indeed!

Mary McLaughlin and I sang together for five years as Anonyma. Since then she has worked with Martin Simpson in various bands and worked solo in the US (where she now lives). Albums include "Cool Water", "Daughter of Lir", "Crystal Shoe" and, most recently, an album of Gaelic Christmas songs.   She's part of the band Camogie with Danny Carnahan, runs several choirs, teaches Gaelic. OK, now getting a bit more specific on dates: we're looking for opportunities to play (and be paid, preferably!) in July and August. London and the South East and/or Wales and the West country for preference, but very open-minded.
