Subject: RE: BS: Baby Duck Listens to Obama... From: Nickhere Date: 24 Jan 09 - 10:39 PM I've seen that one a few times, my wife has bookmarked almost every Youtube vid featuring ducks / duckings or kittens in her 'favourites' bar. It's very cute! `It reminds me of kids feeding younger kids (getting most of the food on, rather than into, them) to show how grown up they are. |

Subject: RE: BS: Baby Duck Listens to Obama... From: Stilly River Sage Date: 25 Jan 09 - 12:22 PM A friend and I were walking through the Japanese garden at the Fort Worth Botanical garden some years ago and came upon an amazing scene--a full-grown blue heron perched, like a statue, waiting for a carp small enough for him to catch to swim past. He knew we were there, but we had walked to our overlook silently and stood like statues ourselves. Gradually a few other adults approached slowly and silently and we stood looking across the water, wishing luck to this beautiful bird. The noisy self-centered family with big kids that came romping through the garden could not be warned to be quiet without disturbing the bird. They picked up no clues from the humans standing stock-still, barely breathing. The weren't looking at anything native in the garden, they were engrossed in themselves, so were utterly clueless when they galloped onto the landing, the bird flew off, and all of the people assembled there turned as one to glare at these oafs. Oh, well. This photographer was lucky! SRS |
Subject: RE: BS: Baby Duck Listens to Obama... From: Amos Date: 25 Jan 09 - 01:01 PM Oafs are part of the territory, an occupational hazard of living in biped form. My personal philosophy: half an oaf is better than one. A |

Subject: RE: BS: Baby Duck Listens to Obama... From: open mike Date: 25 Jan 09 - 09:39 PM yesterday, after a pouring rain storm, i exited a store to find several people on teh sidewalk looking up and holding cell phone/camera aloft. i looked towards where their attention was directed and saw a most beautiful double rainbow. it is good to pay attention to what is around you.. and if a bunch of folks are looking at something, you might find it interesting, too! love that duck--quack quack... the ads below are for raising ducks and baby deuck care.... |
Subject: RE: BS: Baby Duck Listens to Obama... From: Charley Noble Date: 26 Jan 09 - 09:01 AM Very nice! So does this mean that the carping Republicans in Congress should also be fed by Obama? I was thinking that they were already fed up... Cheerily, Charley Noble, seizing the thread for a mad run! |
