Subject: The Boys & Girl From The County Clare From: GUEST,kenny Date: 27 Jan 09 - 12:08 PM Don't know if anyone's noticed this - on BBC 1 tonight at 11.55pm. Trad Irish "Spinal Tap", is the nearest I can suggest. |
Subject: RE: The Boys & Girl From The County Clare From: Jim Carroll Date: 27 Jan 09 - 12:18 PM The makers stressed the importance of the fact tha the title is @The Boys and GIRL of County Clare' Jim Carroll |
Subject: RE: The Boys & Girl From The County Clare From: GUEST,Peter Laban Date: 27 Jan 09 - 12:25 PM Not so much the makers, Jim, they hated the addition of the GIRL. The distribution company and the studio were afraid the Boys from the Co Clare wouldn't attract an audience, let alone the original (working) title, The Great Ceili Wars. But that was before they had the girl written into it anyway. |

Subject: RE: The Boys & Girl From The County Clare From: GUEST,Jim Martin Date: 27 Jan 09 - 10:57 PM A serious clash of folk stuff on BBC tonight - this film on BBC1 and Tom Paxton, Judy Collins, Joan Baez, Crosby & Nash on BBC4. Still, I guess this a good complaint to have (a bit like the proverbial waiting for a London bus - nothing for hours then a dozen all turn up together)! |
