Subject: RE: Appalachian Magic UK tour From: BanjoRay Date: 02 Feb 09 - 07:19 PM Debby McClatchy's been coming over to the UK to tour regularly since the seventies, and is very well known to UK folk audiences. Uncle Henry's Favorites will be making their first trip as a band, though some of them know parts of England, having friends and relatives here. I saw a slightly different lineup doing excellently in the very strong String Band competition at Clifftop, West Virginia last August. If you went to see them, you'd be doing yourself a big favour.... Cheers Ray |
Subject: RE: Appalachian Magic UK tour From: GUEST,BanjoRay Date: 02 Mar 09 - 07:03 AM Unfortunately last night's gig in Baslow and tonight's session in Baslow are cancelled because of the sudden closure of the Devonshire Arms. I took the band for a walk up Kinder Scout yesterday in superb visibility, which really impressed them. The remaining 4 gigs in the West Country are still scheduled to happen, so we'll keep our fingers crossed. The gigs so far have been splendid, with great reception from the audiences. Tonight we'll be calling in on the Ukrainian Club session in Doncaster for some fun. Cheers Ray |
