Can you tell us anything more about the song, gblack??? What type of music is it, and who did you hear perform it? Do you know any partial lyrics of the song? It's hard to find songs if all you know is the title.
For that matter, if you do a forum search, you can find the song lickety-split - or you can be lazy and click here. You'll get more information if you do the Forum Search yourself and search under "Subject" for kish.
Hey, how come I can't find "Who Stole the Kishka"?

Joe

Why would I doubt you? I see the old thread. Meanwhile, here's my twopence worth:
There's a reference to it in Sam Henry's "Songs of the People" ((Huntington/Hermann) ... but only to say that his (unpublished)version of it is from "Songs of the Hebrides" (1909).This reference is ascribed to the bould John Moulden. If he doesn't pick up this thread I'll drop him a line to ask for details.

Regards

Here ya go

Kishmul's Galley,

1. High upon Bennachie
On the day of days seawards I gaze
Watching Kishmul's galley sailing
Ah-hee ya-hoo fol-you-oh

2. Bravely homewards they battled
through ragin' seas
No more no rope
Anchor cable or tackle has he
Ah-hee ya-hoo fol-you-oh

3. Then at last 'gainst wind and tide
he's brought her to
'Neath Kishmul's castle walls
Kishmul castle o' ancient glory
Ah-hee ya-hoo fol-you-oh

4. Here's red wine
And feast for heroes
And harping too
And sweet sweet harping too
Ah-hee ya-hoo fol-you-oh

repeat V1

I found it, some time ago, in a collection "Songs of the Hebrides" by Kennedy Fraser, or possibly Kennedy and Fraser

Kishmul's Galley is on several Corries recordings and on a Video Tape of theirs that I own. Search "Gavin Browne" in the web and you'll find the Corries web site and a resource for these recordings. Kishmuls Galley is als the title of a CD or Tape by the Corries.

There are different versions of the song in the original Gaelic. For further information (and another link) see this earlier Kishmul's galley thread

Found:
Latha dhomh am Beinn a' Cheathaich
Air fal-il-o ho-ri-o-hu
Gu'n deach bta Chloinn Neill seachad
O-hi-o-hu-o fail-uo
B'ait leam do bhta 'si gabhail
Air fal-il-ho ho-rin-o-ho '
Mach dhthaich Mhic 'Illeathain
O-hi-o-hu-o fail-uo
'Steach gu Ciosmul an aigheir
Air fal-il-ho ho-rin-o-ho
Far am faighteadh cuirm ri gabhail
O-hi-o-hu-o fail-uo
Fion oidhche 'gus an latha
Fal-li-o-hu oiou
Is clarsach bhinn 'ga gleusadh mar ris
O-hi-o-hu-o fail-uo

One day I was on the misty mountain
Air fal-il-o ho-ri-o-hu
Clann MacNeill's boat went past
O-hi-o-hu-o fail-uo
I loved to see your boat on its journey
Air fal-il-o ho-ri-o-ho
Out from the MacLean Country
O-hi-o-hu-o fail-uo
Into Kishmul of the mirth
Air fal-il-ho ho-rin-o-ho
Where there will be feasts to be had
o-hi-o-hu-o fal-il-o
wine from night to day
Air fal-il-ho ho-rin-o-ho
And the sweet harp serenading
O-hi-o-hu-o fail-uo

You might find something on Youtube if you search for Ray and Archie Fisher, who featured this song in their joint repertoire back in the 1970s and recorded it on the Topic label.

Sorry I can't do the clicky links, but anyone more technical than me -- most of the planet! -- will probably find it from the hints given.

Kenneth MacKellar did an excellent version in English, album "The Tartan" (see post by Ted of Australia for approximate words).
