Very good, John, and well done mate.

But it's a bit far to travel from upstate New York.

Good luck!

Hi Jon, I'd love to go but it's a far way's for this poor church mouse to travel for a weekend of fun & frolicing, it's hard enough for me to pay my way to the local festivals. Medical retirement just isn't what it used to be, I'm getting sick of it.

I saw in your last yrs list you had Bob Doucet. I always wondered where he ended up after he left Boston 30 or so yrs ago. I knew him some what through my singing partner Neil Downey, they lived across the street. Wonderful singer with a great store of songs. I'll have to let Neil know where he is.

My band Across the Pond, SF Bay Area, played the premiere festival last year and had a fine old time. We played our own set, and also with Rattlebone out of Vancouver. The local folks were very supportive. Year #2 should be great.

See you there Jon!

NWF/Folklife in Seattle this, end of an impromptu beer garden sing, drinking & some nautical songs, (couldn't hear the friendly planned one, so we started one) I mentioned Brian R. (who'd been in the sing) and I'd be there. Some interest then and after so throw up some info on the PTMF blog!

Our Morris side's F/X team is having fun getting ready for the after hours activity.

Cheers, JD

No, downtown. The Vermilion Square Stage is on, you guessed it, Vermilion Square (newly renovated with grass and a "water feature", aka a fountain), and the Museum Stage is alongside (what else?) the Museum. See you here!

Surprisingly, I am now able to answer my own question. It turns out that the brother of one of my co-workers performed at Princeton and she attended, not so much to hear his act as to dandle his new baby. Anyway, my informant informs me that the festival was totally awesome and magical, the main-stage doings of course but even more so the informal sessions taking place in every nook and cranny at the organisers' place, chez Jon and Rika presumably. Apparently the buzz is that the event is going to really take off next year so book your accomodations early

I can confirm all of the above.
Beginning with a wonderful street dance on Friday evening and continuing throughout the weekend with a marvelously varied line-up of performers playing to large enthusiastic crowds.
The Town of Princeton was spectacular, the music incredible and the weather perfect.
Indeed on every level the festival was an absolute triumph.
Congratulations Jon & Rika

Thanks for your kind words, Bob and Eric. We were blessed with glorious weather and the site (downtown Princeton) was perfect.Photos are just beginning to come in, and we'll post when we've got a few more. Thanks again to all the performers, who came for free. Our porch was certainly the best sing we've had for a while!

I'm sorry to say that Barry never saw the pics, dying shortly after we sang with him at Portsmouth and at the GW Getaway. What pleasure we would have had to sing together at Princeton in 2010!

The pics are now mounted on our website at http://princetonfestival.wordpress.com
