Hi Les

I thought this thread was mocking referral to the BBC news reader yesterday who announce a report on the Morris movie. Her announcement prior to the actual report/reporter was Strictly Come Morris Dance or some such.

People who saw the news report and are following the Morris: a life with bells on thread might be likewise confused.

Tam

It looks like a really good idea - a chance to sample some dancing from a venerable Morris side.

There are moves afoot to write a morris dancing programme for the Wii balance board, but although it allows weights up to 23 stone (a must for many morris dancers), it is not robust enough to allow jumping so that idea won't go.

However.... there are those children's dance mats that might be adapted....

Good luck on the recruiting drive!

If anybody is in touch with Manchester Morris Men perhaps they could give them a nudge to come on here and tell us a bit more.

Two of my ex teachers were members of Manchester Morris Men back in the mid 60's.

Manchester MM are still going, and they're recruiting again - at least, they're distributing flyers.

They dance Clog Morris & some Cotswold - so no facepaint and tatters - and they're a Morris Ring side, which I guess means it's M only. But it's Morris & it's local; I'm thinking about checking them out.
