The grapevine has told me that Derek Hudson, one time lead singer in Scafel Pike of the 70's, has had a stroke whilst visiting family in England (Burnley I believe)

Derek has for many years been resident in Sweden.

I for one wish him well.

Apparently had lost his English tongue and could only speak Swedish to his helpers. Which caused some confusion.


I've seen Derek several times in the past few years working solo, oroccasionally doing dueling banjos with a mate, around the pub circuit over here.

Just to update news about Derek's stroke.

Just heard that he's doing fine and gigging again.

Off to Corfu too !

I know Derek from my childhood days in Burnley - the last time I saw him was when we were on holiday in the UK in 1985 - I now live in Australia.

Is this the same Derek Hudson who was recently doing a gig on the Pacific Dawn. He was incredible.
