That's a shame. The Acoustic Soirees were going really well, from strength to strength, well organised, great atmosphere and with a supportive landlord. Long may they continue.

Even more a pity on this occasion cos I myself was looking forward to seeing the talented Wendy A again on 26th. But then her gig list is still very healthy so there's plenty of other chances I guess - anyone else interested can check out her MySpace.

The Acoustic Sunday Soiree will now kick off again on Sunday the 10th of May. The guest performer will be young singer/songwriter Nicky Phillips.

Please note the new start time of 8:30pm. The main guest will now be on stage at 9:30pm

Due to unforeseen circumstances Rosie will not be appearing at the soiree on Sunday 1st March

She is being replaced on this occasion by the fabulous Katriona Gilmore & Jamie Roberts.

Yes it was a great night, really friendly and intimate, and with excellent music from all concerned (Shaun, Heather, Dave and Mark) but most especially The Gerry McNeice Trio.
The format worked well too, and folks really listened - and stayed.
And the pub is lucky to have a supportive landlord (Nick), so the future looks good.
Well dun Gerry for getting this off the ground.
Be there again on March 1st (by when hopefully the dreaded Ilkley roadworks will be finished ??)...

Well, you have one of the best acoustic guitarists in England, and probably the best American-style flatpicker in all Britain, right there in Ilkley. Also the only Irish harpist I've ever heard play "Turkey in the Straw" really well. If you can get them to fit your show into their schedule.

We are starting a new music night called Acoustic Sunday Soiree at
The Albert (formerly The Mallard), Church Street, Ilkley.

Held initially for four shows the format will be as follows...
9:00pm - Open stage presented by
Mr Shaun Murphy
10:00pm - booked artist.
11:00pm - survivors' session.
Performers wishing to be included in the open stage slot should be in the venue for 8:30pm or should
email Shaun to book a slot.

The survivors' session will continue until Nick the landlord has had enough of you! There is a late bar.

The booked guests for the four shows are....
15th Feb -

1st March -
Rosie Doonan and The Snap Dragons
15th March -
Gary Stewart
29th March -
Gerry Cooper
