Kid kountry singer Molly B has died at the relatively young age of 69, according to Obit in today's LA Times.
While she was primarily a Southern California phenomenon, she did appear on Tennessee Ernie Ford TV Show, and made a small handful of movies.
I remember her best from Cliffie Stone's Hometown Jamboree TV showwhen she and I were both about 10 years old...but I was on the home side of the box.
Way too young to have passed on. RIP.

Way too young, John. I remember her from the Ernie Ford show, when I had a terminal case of the purple adolescent hots for her. I loved that pony tail! She was only one year older than me, which gives me pause. I know she had struggles with addiction for a number of years, which may have contributed to her premature death. Wasn't she a protege' of Rex Allen when he had a local show in Phoenix?

That's sad. I remember her from Pinky Lee's TV show; I'm amazed she was so young. I guess when you're a little kid anyone even a few years older looks like a grown-up.

It's very sad she died so young.   (Yeah, 69 seems young to me now.) I didn't know about her addictions. That's always sad.

I don't think I saw and heard her anywhere but on Tennessee Ernie's TV show, but I remember her well. I even remember one particular song she sang that I've never heard anyone else do. ("Baby Can Love")

I didn't know how old she was on Tennessee Ernie's show. I just thought she was older than I was (which was about 14 or 15, IIRC). Maybe she wasn't.*

Genie

*Wait.   If she just died at age 69, she was obviously a few years older than I. Duh!
(Slaps self upside head.)

I had a preadolescent crush on her. She looked really good to me when I was about ten years old, before I decided I was too good for country music....

May she rest in peace.
