Man, I am just loving this man's music. I purchased Field of Dreams and Glory, as well as Just Another Day. I could light out with a stream of superlatives, but I suspect most of you already know this. If not, pop into itunes or CD Baby, or HIS WEBSITE and get a taste of one of the finest performers out there. I am quite sure you will be ordering his music if you do.

All the best,

Mick

Great suggestion, Mick. For those of us who buy from emusic.com there are two albums available for download/purchase there.

Yep, Joe, I believe he is available through most services out there, so he won't be hard to find. I always liked what I had heard of him, he definitely was influenced by Stan Rogers. But this past week I have seriously started to listen to his work, and I am just enjoying it immensely. What a tremendous voice, and his guitar work is right on the mark. Combine that with the scholarship and ability to tell the story and you get a great mix. Production values are out of this world, but what do you expect from Millstream.

Great stuff and I encourage folks to have a listen to this man.

All the best,

Mick

Join the 'following'

It is a very recommendable album , I have been enjoying it for nearly 3 years.

I still think he should 'shape' his finger picks.

There has been several Mudcat threads about Dan's visits to Britain and Auz. George Seto also has sung his praises on the Cat and he has also posted on here himself several times.
I don't know Dan personally but I have watched him perform live in Halifax pubs like O'Carrol's for years. He does indeed remind one of Stan Rogers in his songwriting ability and his voice. The thing that is most noticable though when watching him perform live is stage prescence. When Stan was on stage every eye and ear was glued to him, and hauntingly it is that way with Dan as well.

breezy, I have listened to his music before, but when one is a performer himself, we hear so much good stuff that it is often the case that music doesn't jump out. But every so often, thank god, we just happen to be listening and something catches us and we listen with a more critical ear. That is what happened. I had long been aware of Dan and how good his music was, but a lyric caught my attention and I spent some time listening with that critical ear. And as good as I knew he was, he just caught me with his lyrics, phrasing, instrumental work, and I thought to myself that I needed to pay more attention.

I would bet Sandy's comment is right on. I would love to see him perform live.

All the best,

Mick
