Well, for the time I was there (the last hour), it was a fine session. Everyone was in good form, although I have to say I absolutely loved Jeff Warner's presentation of "Jim Jones". Need to have my recorder nearby the next time he does it...definitely worth stealing. ;-)

Hope to make the whole session next month.

Peter

Sorry I missed it.
The impending and now current storm caused several of my scheduled events to reconstruct or self-destruct, and I ended up coming home too soon, leaving poor Dex abandoned in a kennel until we all dig out.

Jacqui went, I think. I am home with tax returns and mid-winter blahs. I hope to sleep through the next 24 hours.

Couldn't make this one, but am planning on next month. It'll be my birthday, so what better way to celebrate? And Jason will be coming too!!!

Ouch! I hope it all gets better very quickly.
I'll be there. I can't sing and I'm still stuffy, but I need to get out of the woods for a while and around humans before the next snowstorm tomorrow.

Linn, that's awful. "This too shall pass"...and hopefully in a fast and painless manner.

Hugs,

Peter

Looks like I won't be making it this afternoon.

What I thought all week was a mild bladder infection let me know loud and clear at 2:30 this morning that it is a kidney stone. Had one (and only one) of them 21 years ago.

So...the good drugs that also kept me awake since 2:30 will get me through today at work. No, staying home from work is not an option -- we're majorly understaffed as it is, and, thanks to the drugs, I'm functional. (But, believe me, there's no FUN in "functional"!)

Yeah, I know, I could flush the damned thing out with Smuttynose Robust Porter but by that time I think I'll be too tired to do anything but drive home and take the good drugs that DON'T keep me awake.

I just hope I can stay awake, functional and more or less pain and pressure-free until then.

Linn

I know I know -- they pay no heed to my social life at all--just announce they are coming home and expect the red carpet!!!!!But - as I love them dearly and see this one, in particular, way too infrequently - the red carpet - she shall be rolled out! And I will miss the singing.

We always get a space right outside the Press Room. Just bring quarters. LOL

Park on Daniel Street. You'll have to go out and feed the meter midway, or you could park in the municipal parking garage on Hanover St. about 2 blocks away from The Press Room.

Portsmouth isn't exactly crowded and it's fairly small as cities go. Session starts at 3:30 when it's daylight -- but this time of year it'sdark at 7:30 when the session's over.

This is beginning to look like a go.
Where should I park?

So Linn, you sound sure that the cold's gonna be fatal. I DO plan on being there. I haven't been around the Porstmouth (or Portalnd) peeps for a very long time.

And Justine?

That would be great singing even if no one else showed up!

My van is dying. Can't pass inspection and coughs when I accelerate. If I have a new/used car by then, I am a definite maybe.

I will be there towards the end, but family obligations have me detained in the early afternoon.

But as you know, society arrives fashionably late anyway. ;-)

The monthly shanty/forebitter/ballad session will take place at the Press Room in Portsmouth NH this Saturday, 21 Feb., from 3:30 to 7:30 PM.

It would be nice to see a few of the faces that have been missed, esp. from Portland and Cape Anne, as well as all the others and maybe some newcomers - Tom
