Mick McGarry, better known to fellow Mudcatters as Ossonflags has produced his first solo CD 'Raggy Lad'. Mick is the singer with local folk band 'Punch the Horse', but on this occasion has left the band (mostly) behind to record 17 tracks illustrating a lifetime spent amongst strong songs.
With musical support from a range of local musicians and vocal support from Hissyfit (Linda Kelly and Hazel Ritchings), these songs well illustrate Mick's great command of a song. I recommend this recording to Mick's many fans, and to everyone else who enjoys good songs well sung. Mudcatters can get in touch with Mick by PM.

Mega thanks also to Antoine Robinson and Jill Fisher me mates from PTH, Pippa King for her whistle and piano playing,Alan Jones for production, Mike Cox for the brilliant art work and not forgetting that lovely Oakley for his work with Pippa on McGarrys, the tune he wrote for me sixtieth birthday.

talking of the dear boy, if you are in 'ull go and have a look at his portrait in the Ferens Art galley, it is awesome!!!

It is easier to see mine, just buy a copy of the CD!!

If you are local to Hull, you could get one at any Punch the Horse gig, or at the sessions we have in the Wellington, Russell Street (first Sunday afternoon or third Monday night).

i got this cd as well, its really nice and i listened to it loads of times already, my favouritest song on it is called on a monday, its really nice. anyway people should buy it, its 10 quid or 2 for 20 quid.

Hi Mick, sounds if the CD is good, I will pm you for details of how to get it.
I will be glad to hear you singing "North Wall" without going to Otley or Whitby. I keep trying myself, but I do need to hear it sung by someone who can sing it well.
