Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Thug Iad A Thung Thu From: Jim Dixon Date: 25 Feb 09 - 12:52 AM From Wikipedia:
An toinneamh dìomhair : na h-orain (1973) Dain Mhurchaidh (1986) One of them MIGHT contain the poem you are looking for. Both books appear to be written in Scottish Gaelic. I don't know whether they contain any English. If you get the Gaelic text and post it here, someone (not I) might be able to translate it for you. |
Subject: Lyr Req: Thug Iad A Thung Thu From: allybuckoch Date: 23 Feb 09 - 05:04 PM I have this song on a CD called Dhachaigh by various artists. It is by Melbost Bard and concerns his nephew moving from Melbost to Tong, further round Broad Bay. It really is a beautiful song but my Gaelic is not yet capable of deciphering the words and translating. Can anyone help? |
