Tsai Chin recording-I went to school in Cheltenham

A friend has the words to this and is trying to trace a recording of it. I can't see it on Amazon. Does anyone have any ideas? She associated it with our "crowd" at college in the 1960s but neither myself or She who must be obeyed have it in our collections tho' I vaguely remember the song.

Anyone who finds this thread baffling should see School in Cheltenham (from Tsai Chin); where all is revealed.

Your friend will probably just have to haunt Ebay for a vinyl copy of The World of Tsai Chin. There's one listed at the moment; they aren't rare, though apparently never reissued on cd.

Hi Roger, I can only help you be confirming how difficult it is to track down a recording of this wonderful song.

I am rather concerned that my searches have become obsessive as I have comprehensively searched the 'net, including a considerable number of torrent sites and even Chinese sites. (I had to enlist the help of a friend to read the pages to me!)

As I write there are three copies available from a site called Music Stack. They seem to be in different states of repair and start at just over six quid:

But now it is a Point of Honour to lay my ear on a recording on the 'net. I'm not giving up and will be pleased to let you know when I have tracked it down.

An audio track has come up on 'You Tube',a recording from Desmond Carrington BBC Radio,open You Tube type in school in cheltenham,appears as second item in list.

Good Lord! While I've never heard of the song (I am a Yank, after all), I remember Tsai Chin when she played Fu Manchu's daughter in those ridiculous 1960's movies starring Christopher Lee.

Thanks Eddie, now all I have to do is remember who asked me to track this down! I've e-mailed the most likely suspect who does an annual amateur variety-type show around this time of year.
