Hi all,

I can't remember the name of that wonderful thread we had on music therapy but I just found out about this Healing Harps site and I thought the music therapy enthusiasts and others might be interested in it. If anyone remembers the name of the other thread would you mind refreshing it please so I can read it again. It was around the time before catspaw tried to use up his ninth life.

Healing Harps was on CBS news a few years ago. A great organization and alot of truths about the healthful power of music.

"Music therapy" seems to be two wonderful words that go perfectly together.

Homeopathic medicine from Harpies. Quack, quack, quack. Primal Screams from wire strings do the trick every time. Endorsed by thesophists, mountebanks, Freudians and everyone under halucinogens. Those vibration induced orgasms feel good for a short while, but, alas, they don't last. There are lots of maladies for which there is no cure, so just about anything can be, and has been, used as a treatment.

Cowards should f*** off. Get a real screen name, or jump off a bridge. Don't bother us with your cowardice.

Alex.... obviously, ignorance rules in this persons life... if it didn't, and they had any understanding of the field of music therapy, what it entails, and the proven medical results from it's usage, they wouldn't be able to offer the same jibberish. I often find with people of this attitude, to ignore is the best result, because they are unwilling to be taught any different. I someone is willing to learn and understand the value of something like music therapy, then i am more than willing to share my experiences. I can do this with confidence, because i have spent 10 years working as one. This is a field where we are recognized as professionals in the health care industry. There are documented results of interactions, some long-term, some short-term, some life changing. Like any therapy, it depends on the individual, the therapist and the circumstance.

I have a poster in my music room that reads : " Music, speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul"

music therapy is that and so much more, and it is a valued part of our health care system........

Hey, if it works, it works, whether or not we understand why or how it works. Remember, they didn't use to think bees could fly, but they still flew. The proof is in the pudding, not the pudding theory.
