Subject: RE: Jonatha Brooke's guitar? From: GUEST,Jeff Date: 15 Mar 09 - 12:57 PM That's it! Thank you, SW. When living in SoCal 2/3 lifetimes ago I'd heard of them, but couldn't remember the name. Believe I saw a couple @ McCabe's in a 'vacuum sealed' anteroom where one had to provide an asset/liquidity statement before entering... |

Subject: Jonatha Brooke's guitar? From: GUEST,jeff Date: 15 Mar 09 - 12:42 AM Saw a youtube video of Jonatha Brooke singing her song 'Lullaby' and was stuck by the guitar. It looked like a deeper, more ornate Guild F-30C, but had an 'O' or a 'G' on the headstock. Does anybody know what kind of guitar she's using? Is it an Overbrook or some name like that? The sound of the instrument is phenomenal. Part of it is great technique and a thumbpick, but the rich bass and clear treble say 'handbuilt', 'exotic woods', 'very pricey', 'scalloped bracing'...and worth every dime. Here's the link: Youtube search: Jonatha Brooke Lullaby Sorry, tried to make a 'blue clicky' link, but failed...:-( Saw a couple of videos in the mid-90s and thought her the best of the 'Lilith Fair' singer/songwriters though never as well known as some lesser talents. Don't know that she actually DID perform at LF, but she came to my attention around the same time. |
