HI, I have tapped every possible resource I can cook up and have had no luck in finding much about this song.

"Away With Melancholy"

Away with Melancholy, nor doleful changes ring

I have 6 verse on my copied sheet music. No dates.

Charles Meineke published sheet music of this song in 1827.

I suspect the lyrics have been lifted or influenced by Byron-but I 've not been able to find the exact match in any of Byron's material.

I appreciate any help!!! I've been searching for weeks!

Allan C. Thanks for the information! A new lead to pursue. Want another test!? How about a smoking song called "Floating Away"? I've only found it as the smoking tune of 2 fraternities but I suspect it is early 19th c. John
