According to his web site, singer-songwriter Dan Seals died yesterday.

http://www.sealsandseals.com/
Dan Seals passed away March 25, 2009 following a valiant struggle with mantle cell lymphoma. He leaves behind thousands of fans, countless friends and a loving family. He enjoyed a musical career which spanned four decades and included hit records both as a member of pop duo England Dan and John Ford Coley, and as a solo country artist. In 1986 he won Country Music Association Awards for “Bop” and "Meet Me in Montana." He will forever be remembered for his gentle smile, easy going demeanor, his enduring faith and endless generosity.

Another good one gone way too soon.   Cancer's the culprit.

Rest in peace, Dan - or, better yet, hope you're making music on the other side.

The news report I heard this morning announcing Dan Seals's death played an excerpt from "I'd Really Love To See You Tonight" and incorrectly identified the duo as Seals and Crofts.
Jim Seals, who sang with Dash Crofts, was Dan Seal's older brother.

On Wednesday ( the day Dan died), I was at a concert and one of the acts performed Dan's "Lullaby". Strangely, that was the first time that I'd heard the song.

Anyone who has not heard Dan Seals sing "San Antone," really should. I about wore this one out on a jukebox in a factory bar where I used to shoot pool. Such a sweet, plaintive voice. RIP.

I started a thread the other day looking for the Chords to Dan's song "Wood". after getting nor response, I decided to look again on the net for the chords and saw the Obituaries for him. I never realised he had died in 2009, and I'm really gutted.

I used to work for the company that distributed hit 2 acoustic albums "In a Quiet Room 1&2" in Australasia and was moved by his songrwriting and the way he performed his songs.

I always hoped that one day he might tour Australia or that maybe I'd be able to go to US and see him perform.

My condolencies to his family.

RIP Dan.
