I will try to find out what happened to the Hippodrome's pipe organ.
One of the performances this weekend is a silent movie with live music composed and provided by the pastime-silent-movie-orchestra

Hey, I dimly remember when that was a department store, though I never went in it. I spent a little time in Eureka on business in the late '80s.
I see the theater originally had a pipe organ. Any idea what happened to it?

PS good luck and enjoy the festival

Interesting event - of the sort which used to be more common over here in the UK in years gone by. And the theatre looks like a great venue.

Hope it all goes well for you - have a good time!

This weekend i am in Eureka, on the Pacific ocean, at a music festival.
It is dixieland jazz, and zydeco and cajun music. Also there is a great, young, old time band, Huckleberry Flint.

I get to be stage manager/M.C. for the most wonderful venue...an old
theater which has recently been re-modelled after spending years as a department store...the Arkley has been built in 1910 as the State Theater here, and has wonderful designs...maybe called art deco? I will post more when i research it..
