Subject: RE: Frisco Easter Folk, Old Time, etc. From: Bob the Postman Date: 15 Apr 09 - 08:06 PM Well, I made it to some of the Spring Musicale at the Velo Rouge. The place was packed, standing room only so's you couldn't put your hands in your pockets cuz it made your elbows stick out too far. Too crowded to get to the bar, so thanks to the management for putting up with that much success. Loved the Lark Family, a string band of three kids drawing on old-timey repertoire. Thanks again masha and Dave for the tips. |

Subject: Frisco Easter Folk, etc. From: Bob the Postman Date: 01 Apr 09 - 09:32 PM I'm gonna be staying in some Hilton or other in downtown San Francisco from about April 7 to 13. No car, just public transportation. Any suggestions on where to hear folk, old-time, chanteys, bluegrass, acoustic blues, and/or the like? Folk clubs or sing-arounds? You know what I mean--home-made, non-industrial music. Thanks, 'cats. |
