Yup 10 days mate.
Not sure which 10 as was still under discussion when we left.
Despite the rain what a bloody great 5 days of music, beer and mates.
Hopefully with ten days to choose from we might get a few more calling in after Saddleworth or en route to Durham,Scarbro etc.
Cheers all.

Sorry to hear that Mike.
Hopefully there will be another year?
Errrr no Mr V am not one of the organizers,as you know I have difficulty organizing a few notes and words to fit together.
I just volunteered to try and make the dates available on mudcat and maybe find a few answers to any queries.
Soldierboy.
I don't have a say in the organizing of the Staithes weekend.
It isn't a festival with paid performers more of a gathering of people who like sitting in the pub, campsite, seafront etc playing listening and having a good time with friends old and new.
In fact I have been told not to use the "F" word in connection with it although music and song of that persuasion is warmly welcomed and greatly enjoyed.
I will put your p.o.v. to Tony tomorrow and let you know via this thread of any outcome.
Errr of course I wont be able to post on here for a few days so it will be Monday or Tuesday next week most likely.
Cheers
Tim

It doesn't seem to matter which weekend you choose. It will always clash with something else. Yorkshire is a big place and there's lots going on. There's so much more I would like to do in life if only I had the time.

Now if we were to ask the good folks of Saddleworth to move ……..   :-)

Sorry Tim Leaning but I don't understand what you mean in your second from last posting?

Why can't you just choose a different weekend so you don't clash with Saddleworth FF. Me and many folkies I know from Yorkshire would love to come to your festival but not at the expense of missing Saddleworth.

Is there no way that you could opt for a different weekend?

I'm probably wasting my breath bud but if it could be changed it would really please a large clump of hard core folkies who all know each other and who love to go to all the best festivals. And I'm sure that Staithes would become a firm favourite.

Ahhh well perhaps the great folky it the sky will read this and put an extra day in the year so we don't over lap?
Meanwhile enjoy the music at Saddleworth and share the good weather with us.
I know what you mean re timing but would rather have the choice of several than the other thing which is a day of and nowt to go too innit.
Best wishes Tim

I would really love to come to the Staithes festival because I love the place BUT it clashes with Saddleworth FF. Aaaarrrgggghhh!

I really wish one year that you could organise it so that you don't clash with Saddleworth. So I would definately be there and I know loads of other folkies who would want to be there as well.

Just a thought.

Have a great festival folks, wish I could be there with you.

Well Tim, I mentioned lemon cake to Mrs Coggles and she's just nipped to the Co-op for some icing sugar, so I think that's a good sign...

Spellcheckers are known to be instruments of the devil. Back in the eighties a certain word processing package would state "there is no alternative" when confronted with "Margaret Thatcher"!

See you Wednesday?

Pete.

Ha that is what they said to us and we had turned up!
Talk about laid back
Tell them if you want a hook up because you do need to book for that.
If you are going at the start on the Wednesday there is no problem usually getting on site
If you are coming Friday evening or Saturday check before driving

Well, I've booked a few days off work, so I'll there.

I tried a few times to get through to the campsite but all I got was a message saying that they couldn't take a message - please try later. Eventually I got through to someone who I asked about booking. He said just turn up, so that's what I will do.

I only just realised the title of this thread is still wrong
How can I get someone good and clever and powerful to adjust it for me?
Also I have realised that me spell checker, that somehow has started working on everything else, doesnt help me out on here.
So now everyone knows how ignorant I am of the correct spelling of so many words in my own language.

A broodje haring met ui - its my favourite from when I lived in Holland. So much so, that whenever we have been back to Holland, to visit my wife's parents, they had it on the table waiting for me.

Yes it was a bread roll with raw herring and onion. It was lovely or as the Dutch say "Lekker, Lekker, Lekker"
