Subject: RE: Deckman is out of hospital w/ new hip From: Don Firth Date: 02 Apr 09 - 11:57 PM Well, let's see now. Bob has had a heart operation, he's had a couple of eye operations, and two hip replacements. If he starts muttering things like, "You will be absorbed! Resistance is futile!" I'm gonna freak out!! Subject: RE: Deckman is out of hospital w/ new hip From: Stilly River Sage Date: 02 Apr 09 - 10:53 PM I called very briefly to say hello and get well soon--he sounds good, but tired. I didn't even expect him to be up or near the phone. Some of you remember he had a hard time with the first hip replacement--I won't go into it, you can search his threads and find his story, but I wanted to be sure it went better, easier this time, and it sounds like it did indeed. Subject: Deckman is out of hospital w/ new hip From: Stewart Date: 02 Apr 09 - 10:02 PM Bob went into the hospital last Monday for a long overdue hip replacement - his second, his other hip was replaced a few years ago. His lovely bride, Judy, reports that he came home today. Apparently everything went well. He's drugged up for pain and crabby as hell (what's new?) - just his usual self! Not able to get on the computer yet, so we won't hear from him for a while. But everything should improve, including his disposition. He put this off for quite a while, but finally it became too painful, so he had to get it fixed. We wish him a good and speedy recovery. Cheers, S. in Seattle where the rain falls gently, and we hope to see the sun, once or twice a year! |
