Beverley is shaping up to be a good gathering. Not a Shanty Festival this year but still a great town and camp site and a grand group of people

See this thread   -   May Bank Holiday - Beverley

Clun Green Man Weekend in shropshire fits the bill. You can Google it. Upton folk fest will also fit cos camping is reasonable and you don't have to go to the concerts, just sing and play in the pubs all wkend. Wkend after Easter is Salwey Arms big sing and sesh with a ceilidh. Check that out in here (can't log in on my mob on which i am just now) or google

There's an Old Time picking weekend at Sewerby Hall, near Bridlington. Musicians get in free. Play tunes among the tents, in the Orangery, anywhere in the extensive grounds, and in the nearby pub at night. Appalachian dance teams in the Orangery during the day.

People could start arriving on the Thurs and could delay leaving till the following Wed - all free to musicians.
Drive through the pub car park toward the sea till you can turn left on to a tarmac track used by the Road Train. Follow it round to the seaward entrance to the Hall grounds. Find the FOAOTMAD banner and camp beyond it.
Been going for a few years now - it's great.

ps Acoustic string band instruments only (fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin, bass, autoharp, lap dulcimer) and no percussion except dance shoes.
(No bodhrans, shakey eggs, maraccas, drumkits, washboards etc)
