Inspired by the poetry thread, I thought I might try to start something with links to music writing - amateur or professional - by Mudcatters... stuff that hopefully might be of interest to other Mudcatters.

I'll kick it off with an article based on an interview I did a few years back with Martin Welham, who played and sang with late sixties/early seventies psych-folk group, Forest.

Martin Welham Comes Full Circle

The article originally appeared on the sorely missed The Unbroken Circle website. For now it's now on my Myspace blog...

You can hear Martin's old music here and his new music here

Women in Texas music
By K. Hudson
U of Texas Press - Publisher 2007

I think women are stronger than men. Baring your heart and soul takes courage, and these Texas women artists have a lot of courage. They make me even prouder to be a Texan.

Women to tell their own stories of their life journeys, creative processes, and the importance of writing and performing music, be it blues, rock, country, folk, or jazz.
