From: Banjiman

OK, OK ......we're only escaping from Yorkshire to the English Southeast!

But it will feature: Some of this!

I would think Maybe a bit of this....

Definitely alot of this, but with congas

and probably
this as well

Blind Summat! are: Wendy Arrowsmith (Mrs Banjiman on here), Rebekah Findlay (Becks), Paul Arrowsmith (Banjiman), Joolz cavell (Bodbum).

Between us we play: Voices (inc. harmonies), Guitars, Mandolin, Accordions, Fiddle, Whistles, Bodhran, Congas, Cajon, assorted percussion .... and maybe the odd banjo.

You can catch us at Deal Folk Club on May 1st website
The Wrotham Arms, Broadstairs on May 2nd Website
and Thistleworth Lawn Tennis Club(129a Ridgeway Road North, Osterly, Isleworth, TW7 5LX) on the 3rd for a self promoted public gig. £5 .

We are back oop north for the Hardraw weekend charity event on the 16th May, Ryedale Folk Weekend 22nd-25th May and York Folk Weekend (hopefully) on 31st May.

Be great to catch up with some old Mudcat friends and meet some new ones along the way.

Cheers

Paul

Thanks Tim, we will be careful down there!

Just to borrow BB's line: not wanting to blow our own trumpet but here's what others have said about us:

"They mixed their set between up beat tunes that got your feet tapping to slower more contemporary songs and the dynamic between the four was electric. They actually enjoyed performing! Whats
that all about? Highly entertaining and amusing wrapped up with a professional quality and an infectious sound." Angie, Northeast Live!

"A fantastic mind blowing finale from BLIND SUMMAT.
I make no apologies for enthusing about them, they are fantastic, they are all skilled individual performers, but when brought together
they are awesome and powerful." Terry Ferdinand (Bishop FM Folkshow presenter) Review of Ingleton FF Fundraising concert.

"What is also nice to see is the empathy these four musicians have for each other, recognising each other's ability and being generous enough to allow each other to shine at the right moment, thanks for a great night folks!" Woodlark Folk Club

"The band were tight and performed really well together and gave a fantastic lively sound to finish the night. Many thanks to Wendy and the band for providing us with a fantastic array of beautiful songs. A truly great nights entertainment." Foggy Furze Folk Club

Really would be great to see some of you along the way.

Paul

"Just to let you THWAITE's brewery have a beer called Blind Summat out at the moment"

I didn't know that, is it any good? Seems appropriate though!

Wonder if they'll sponsor us?

Is there an 'odd banjo man' to go with the 'odd banjo'?

I'm not into beer, so won't be havin' a try of the Blind Summat stuff. I'll leave that to MCFC.

Do you think they will sponsor us???????

"pale-ish IPA and tasted quite good."

I would have expected it to be a full bodied, very tasty brew with it being named after the band. I'm full bodied and the ladies are very tasty!

Mudcat was so much better before people like yourself decided that it was a good advertising medium.

Is it a good advertising medium?

Do you get more people at your village hall as a result of your tedious self promotion here?

I for one was delighted to find out about KFFC here. Have a great tour Blind Summat.

It's nice when cyberspace leads to a real place, real people, and good music and a good time instead just... more cyberspace.

Matt,

No problem. We've all posted in haste and when in a bad mood..... some of my posts have been really embarrasing in hindsight!

Having said that I do think you raise a legitimate point. I always feel OK about posting KFFC events and news (somehow seems to be to the greater good) but I always hesitate and feel a bit guilty and self-indulgent when posting info about the band & other acts close to my heart.

But Mudcat is such a good vehicle for getting to people who might have an interest in the music we make..... and what is the point of making music if it is not shared with others?

Thanks to you and Peregrina for your good wishes re the tour.

Paul

Oh, thanks to MGAS as well. Hopefully we'll see you at Easingwold sometime.

I hesitate to post this but if anyone is interested we have just recorded a new version of "The Cruel Mother". It's kind of funky, just Congas, fiddle, guitar and voice. Do you think Mike Harding will play it?????

wendy and paul (and now blind summat!) have become great friends and regular musicians at the wrotham arms due to mudcat and myspace. i have also been lucky enough to visit kffc and seen some of the great talent they put on at their fests.

Without the information provided in these threads I would not be aware of Blind Summat visiting my neck of the woods in venues that I go to on occasions. I am pleased to have that information and although I can't see myself doing anything with it on this occasion because of other commitments I have been able to check out the band through Myspace and mark them down as a possible in future - and I shall undoubtedly discover when that possibility arises through Mudcat

Good luck to you Paul and to all the other musicians trying to make contact with their potential fanbase through this site - now if you'd just reciprocate with a gig for Norcsalordie at KFFC ......

Hi Raffles, not sure what I'm reciprocating for...... are you offering us a gig somewhere????????

Drop us a line anyway via pm and we'll see if we can help get the lads a couple of gigs up this way.

Paul
