Hi everyone. I thought I would put up a thread letting everyone know that Ron Bankley and I are in the studio recording a new CD this week. I just got home from our first night recording and it went great. I am having a blast and it is an honor to play music with someone as talented as Ron. I will try to keep anyone who is interested updated about the project.

I will be putting up pics from the session pretty soon. I have carried a camera with me alot more here lately so I actually have pictures for a change. Now I have to get them up on my myspace. That Bankley fellar ain't so shabby a picker himself lol. I have had a blast and we have recorded some cool stuff. We are going to record tonight at the cabin he is staying at. Maybe feed off the old vibe of the place. It is a cabin from the 1800's.

I have high expectations and am looking forward to the finished work. You make it sound like you are having fun. I thought recording was hard work.

I have pictures from the recording session up on my myspace. I will add a link at the bottom of this post. It went really good. Ron and I had a jam session and did a little recording at the cabin he is staying in. It is an old log cabin that was built in the 1860's. I have also put up a new version of Ghost of Appalachia that I recorded duiring these sessions up on my myspace. It needs mixing and there will be more added to it when it comes out on the CD. I wrote it and had a banjo in mind but never played one on it. I did on this version so I thought I would put this one up on the page. I have gigs the next 2 days but Sunday we are going to get together and hopefully record a little more before he has to leave. i hate the thought of him leaving because I have enjoyed it so much. Well I wanted to give an update on the visit and CD. The pics are in my photo album and named Recording with Ron Bankley it is toward the bottom of my photo page. I can't wait to hear the final CD. This has been a wonderful experience and now I can't wait for us to do the next Cd lol.

playin' a wooden box inside a bigger wooden box with a kindred spirit, well... it's a special sound all 'round.. harkens back to simpler times...

but maybe next time it'll be metal inside a steel barn, but not this month !
