Subject: West country folk clubs & gigs? From: Becks Date: 15 Apr 09 - 02:13 PM I have just been in Somerset and surrounding areas for the Lands End Trial (endurance hill climbing for road cars) and while I was there managed to get myself a couple of gigs in Bristol and near Taunton. I was hoping to make a holiday of it and visit other folk clubs while I was there. So if anyone can suggest any that I can visit for singarounds and even a floor spot or two if possible, it would be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone would consider me for a support slot anywhere to I would be very greatful! I don't normally ask for gigs (I feel a little cheeky!) but I usually visit clubs and take part in singarounds and sessions and usually get offered a gig that way. But seeing as I am in North Yorkshire that is a little hard to do from up here! The Bristol and Taunton venues are very flexible as to when I visit so I can work around other venues and make the most of my trip. I was hoping to do it sometime in the early Autumn as I will have my album finished by then. I have a website & myspace site for anyone who wants to hear some samples. http://www.myspace.com/rebekahfindlaymusic http://www.rebekahfindlay.co.uk Becks |
