Just thought I'd let everyone know (unless you already know) about a new music venue in Knaresborough - Henshaws Arts and Crafts Centre.

It is principally a centre to provide a fully accessible, vibrant environment in which visually impaired and disabled artists can learn new skills and express themselves through art and creative crafts.

It is a great place to visit, but they also hold music events there, see their myspace page using the following link.

They are holding a day of folk dance and music on April 25th. Keith and I would be there to support, but we will be in Southampton.

Do go along - you won't regret it, and look out for more events there.

Cheers

Sylvia

Thanks, Anahata - Chas and Heather are in the clips there, as well as Keith and me. It's a really fun place. You'll notice in some of the clips that we were asked for requests of songs that we know, but don't usually sing - so words and keys were a bit all over the place, but, nevertheless, enjoyed by all who were there from the craft workshops.

Phil, the manager, is really keen on getting folk music performed there, as he sees it as being not only quality, but also fun for everyone, which fits his agenda. For example, he hopes to get the film "Morris: A life with bells on" to be shown in the centre, if he can.

I know I've put this link on another thread, but Wayzgoose Morris will be there on the 25th, and they recently appeared on Flog It for just over 5 minutes, from about 19 minutes in. Here's the link again.

Enjoy yourselves if you manage to get there on the 25th, which you should if you can. Keith and I are both going to support Henshaws in as many ways as we can and we'll catch you there sometime.

Cheers

Sylvia

We had great day yesterday, Sat 25 April. In all we had 6 Morris, 1 Rapper and 1 Molly side. The sun was out, with only a sprinkling of rain. The evening went well with Monkeys Fist. Visit our myspce page www.myspace.com/musicathenshaws for news of forthcoming events.
Cheers
Phill
