I have mixed feelings about her singing (which is good) but goodness she can play the accordian...and drive it...mg

She can play it, certainly, but I don't find her playing especially impressive. The arrangement is awful, its jolliness is quite inappropriate to the meaning of the song.

As for her singing, she might be OK in her own language but her accent makes it hard to hear the words and I am left with the impression that she doesn't fully understand what she's singing about.

Well, lots of sad Irish songs are quite jolly....I love the accordian...and I think it is great to not know what you are singing about and go for it anyway...mg

As a contrast, listen to Ann Byrne, in the selection on the right of the page, sing this song.

Pfft... 'loud tattoo' - it should be 'dread tattoo', as it always was when I was a kid. Onomatapaeic. Lovely player, isn't she?

it should be 'dread tattoo

No offense intended, but she is French -- "dread" in this usage isn't exactly a common word word for second-language speakers, so she probably missed it!

I am more annoyed at the filming of this clip: it alternates between either 1) far away or 2) extreme close-up of nose-stud.
