There are some people who are competent artists but who shouldn't do interviews. I'd say Thornton is one of them.

I felt sorry for his bandmates, who were probably feeling that their chance for a music career was being pissed away before their eyes.

Thornton, who doesn't need a music career, probably doesn't give a shit.

He can be. But, as I seem to recall, he not only suffers from OCD, as kat said, but some other nasty stuff. Dunno really. Just hope he gets the help he needs no matter what his problems are... even if it's a kick in the ass.

Jian Ghomeshi was very polite and restrained in the face of ignorance and ill manners. I do not believe this type of behaviour is hilarious, interesting, or indeed entertaining.

My son, his wife and I were discussing this interview a couple of evenings ago ... the core of the discussion did not revolve around Billy Bob's ignorant behaviour. but on, as you mentioned Kat, Ghomeshi's quick thinking and professionalism in a diffucult situation.

Jian Ghomeshi did an outstanding job of thinking on his feet, so to speak. I would not judge BBT too quickly, though. He wrote about having Obsessive Compulsive Disorder in his song, "Always Countin'" on THIS CD which I have and happen to still really enjoy listening to...it has a lot of personal poignancy in all of the songs and versatility. I am not excusing his behaviour, just pointing out that there may be medical reasons for it and the public is quick to judge and long to forgive/understand.

Frankly, when I saw "blow up" in the title, I thought you meant he really blew up. I've seen actors/performers who are considered fairly normal be more confrontational and snotty than he was.

I wish I hadn't seen or read the article. What an asshole. I think that the interviewer handled the situation extremely well. I for one think that B.B.T. needs a little help if not a lot. Man, was he stoned or what? If he was stoned than I can forgive his obnoxious behavior some what. If he wasn't then he is an asshole.

I am a festival organizer as some of you know. I would (if I had the money.) never think of booking his band to play because of the possible trouble that B.B.T. would bring.

Apparently from what I heard he was (loudly) booed at his Massey Hall show later that evening.

Jian Ghomeshi is a professional and a class axct ... Billy Bob, well he demosntrated what an a$$hole he is.
