Subject: Tech: Changing default player for mp3s From: GUEST,Tom Sanders Date: 24 Apr 09 - 08:28 AM Inadvertently, I seem to have made Quicktime (which I hate) the default player for mp3 files in web pages. How can I change it back to Windows Media Player please? Thanks, Tom |
Subject: RE: Tech: Changing default player for mp3s From: Shalini Date: 24 Apr 09 - 08:32 AM Right-click an mp3 file in Windows Explorer. Open with --> Select 'Choose program'. There select Windows Media Player and also check the 'Always use selected program to open...' box. Hope it works for you. Shalini |

Subject: RE: Tech: Changing default player for mp3s From: Bill D Date: 24 Apr 09 - 12:32 PM all browsers have some way of setting the default programs they use to open/play different files. You have to go into the menu up top. If it was Opera or Firefox,I could give details, but I never use IE. |

Subject: RE: Tech: Changing default player for mp3s From: Bob the Postman Date: 25 Apr 09 - 03:00 PM Open Windows Media Player. Click Tools and select Options, then select File Types, click the box for mp3 (or click the Select All box), and finally click Apply. That should work until someone starts up the odious iTunes which will automatically promote itself to default player (perhaps some other media players like QuickTime are as self-important as iTunes). |
