Hi all,

The Góilín Singers' Club is the granddaddy of all singers' clubs. It has been meeting on Friday nights at various venues in Dublin for the past thirty years. Many Mudcatters have visited the club over the years. Here is a notice from the Góilín's website. I will fill in more details as they come to hand, but I can tell you that there will be visitors coming to the celebration from every corner of Ireland and the world. It's going to be a MIGHTY weekend.

Friday, 15 May 2009 30th Anniversary Celebration

This weekend we'll be celebrating our 30th anniversary with a weekend of all thats best in traditional singing. We hope to have "old friends" from all over to help us celebrate in a fitting way. There will be the usual Góilin singing session on Friday with a singing session on Saturday afternoon followed by a bit of food and the "Anniversary Session" on Saturday night. All taking place in The Teachers Club of course. Club meets at 9:30 at Teacher's Club, Parnell Square, Dublin 1, and all visitors/singers are welcome.

Oops! forgot to say that Góilín have done a deal with Walton's Hotel of North Frederick Street (3 minutes walk from the Teachers' Club) for €99 per double room per night or €149 per treble room for those wishing to attend the celebrations. There are only a limited number of rooms still available and those wishing to book should email [e-mail] (don't forget to mention the Góilín)
