Went over to Byfleet specially to see Donal. He approached me for a booking in 2002, sending me his first CD. I was so impressed I offered him a gig, but on that occasion he couldn't put a tour together. Having raved about him ever since, it was great to hear the man live, so glad that he did The Bubble Song. What a charming and delightful man !

'It has been said of Donal's live performances that the "audience feel that they have made a new friend having heard him perform" (Black Nun Folk Club, Ballycastle, Co. Antrim' - the same could be said for Len Graham!

Glad to hear you enjoyed him, Les, cos we've got Donal at Bideford Folk Club (in North Devon) in a couple of weeks time.

Thursday 7th May to be precise. 8pm at the Joiners Arms in Bideford.

It's the day before the singing weekend at the Fox and Hounds at Bridestowe (near Okehampton) in Devon. Anyone coming down for that would be more than welcome to drop by to hear Donal on the Thursday night. We're already expecting one 'overseas catter' to join us.

If anyone needs more info, please ask via this thread rather than PM-ing me at the moment.

Sue

Much enjoyed Donal at Chorlton Folk Club last Thursday. If he is in your part of the world don't miss him. He write great songs, sings delightfully and tells a good tale. From his website:

"A Pure Joy ..."
Donal grew up in provincial Ireland of the seventies. He writes about the people and places he knows and loves. He writes about issues, which are colloquial and yet universal. He writes about ordinary everyday life in an extraordinarily simple way. Is it any wonder that the great Christy Moore described his debut album as "A Pure Joy".

It has been said of Donal's live performances that the "audience feel that they have made a new friend having heard him perform" (Black Nun Folk Club, Ballycastle, Co. Antrim).

Don't miss him when he's in your area.
Contact him! ...He'll tell you when he will be appearing.

Cheers

L in C
