The song is called MORNING INFORMS and it's on Vin Garbutt's album "Persona...Grata" (2005).

I couldn't find any lyrics or sound samples.

Thanks Jim, Looks like I will end up with the CD. I am not being mean, I have 5 of Vins CDs and, apart from bypass syndrome, this is the one I would least like to buy (Sorry Vin, all the others are great)

Someone, perhaps Vin himself, may be able to oblige.

Unfortunately it's not in his Songbook vol. 1 which does contain some of his excellent earlier material.

Agree with Myrtle's cook, Vin is a lovely bloke and I am sure he would oblige. And I agree it is a lovely song, my favourite of the album. I will disagree with you about the album overall, though, Silas - I think it is pretty great, with songs like Punjabi Girl, Silver & Gold and Dockyard Wall on it (not to mention the Flowers & The Guns - damn, I must stop doing that)...

'Morning Informs' is my favourite Vin song. Before it was on a CD I used to email him before I saw him and ask him to sing it as that was that only way I could hear it.

I pestered him to put it on his most recent CD - and he did!

You can see and hear Vin Garbutt performing MORNING INFORMS at YouTube. I listened, and I could barely understand a word!

Fortunately, there's a video of someone else singing the song. From him, I was able to get these words:
