Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Morning informs on my dreaming From: GUEST,Silas Date: 28 Apr 09 - 10:35 AM Thanks Jim, Looks like I will end up with the CD. I am not being mean, I have 5 of Vins CDs and, apart from bypass syndrome, this is the one I would least like to buy (Sorry Vin, all the others are great) |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Morning informs on my dreaming From: Myrtle's cook Date: 28 Apr 09 - 10:55 AM Why not try the message/discussion board on Vin's website: http://www.vingarbutt.com/index.php?page=messages&ACTION=list&fid=8&table=lyrics Someone, perhaps Vin himself, may be able to oblige. Unfortunately it's not in his Songbook vol. 1 which does contain some of his excellent earlier material. Good luck |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Morning informs on my dreaming From: George Papavgeris Date: 28 Apr 09 - 11:28 AM Agree with Myrtle's cook, Vin is a lovely bloke and I am sure he would oblige. And I agree it is a lovely song, my favourite of the album. I will disagree with you about the album overall, though, Silas - I think it is pretty great, with songs like Punjabi Girl, Silver & Gold and Dockyard Wall on it (not to mention the Flowers & The Guns - damn, I must stop doing that)... |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Morning informs on my dreaming From: GUEST,Chris Murray Date: 28 Apr 09 - 01:42 PM 'Morning Informs' is my favourite Vin song. Before it was on a CD I used to email him before I saw him and ask him to sing it as that was that only way I could hear it. I pestered him to put it on his most recent CD - and he did! |

Subject: Lyr Add: MORNING INFORMS (Vin Garbutt) From: Jim Dixon Date: 29 Apr 10 - 11:26 AM You can see and hear Vin Garbutt performing MORNING INFORMS at YouTube. I listened, and I could barely understand a word! Fortunately, there's a video of someone else singing the song. From him, I was able to get these words: MORNING INFORMS Vin Garbutt CHORUS: Gone, gone in the wink of an eye, Swore to be one till we should die, Night has replaced the light in your eye, And morning informs on my dreaming. 1. I should have listened to your sad complaint. My voice was loud; yours was so faint. I thought on lines of new coat of paint When our love was needing repairing. 2. Jimmy, our son, he puts on a brave face, But I hear him crying for one more embrace. Jane's been so quiet since you left this place, Afraid she'd a part in your going. 3. I've learned my lesson; guilt falls like rain. Storm clouds will linger till you ease the pain. We need you so much; won't you come home again? The door's been unlocked since your going. 4. The night hears me praying; what more can I do? The pillow we shared is often wet through. When lights cross the curtains, I think: is that you? But then morning informs on my dreaming. |
