There was a song by this name that was popular in Australian music hall in the late 19th century, performed by Will Whitman.
Does anyone know the words (and tune, ideally)?
Any other songs about larrikins?

I've found several references to an article called The Larrikin's Hop: Larrikinism and Late Colonial Popular Theatre by Melissa Belanta, that appeared in Australasian Drama Studies, 52: 131-147.

Belanta also wrote this blog article: The Larrikin's Hop & blackface minstrelsy, which mentions the song, but doesn't quote from it.

I another article by the same author: Leary kin: Australian larrikins and the blackface minstrel dandy which contains the following quote from the lyrics:

Did you ever see a larrikins' hop,
When the lads and girls on the floor all flop,
And a "rorty" MC out the figures does bawl,
And the "push" go skipping around the hall,
With their well-oiled heads and their high-heeled boots,
Bell-bottomed pants and very loud suits!
The girls with bustles that bob up and down,
They think themselves the swells of the town!
Round and round they hop, they never stop
Till quite out of breath, their faces do mop,
Sit round by the wall, and do a little mash,
Their talk's of the kind that's known as flash!

A footnote identifies the song as "The Larrikins' Hop," Australian Melodist, no. 19, 15. Note the position of the apostrophe! It could make a difference to a search engine.

However, I still couldn't find any more about it even when I varied the spelling:
LARRIKIN'S HOP
LARRIKINS' HOP
LARRIKIN HOP

Thanks, Jim.

Now I just need a tune for it....

Has anyone seen a copy of the Australian Melodist, no. 19, 15?
