Subject: Tech: Bias Software
From: Bo

I am at last making a severe upgrade to my home studio and am wondering if anyone has experience or comments on Bias Software products, Peak and/or Deck.
I bought Peak LE5 a while back and it came with Deck 3.5LE.
I've searched here and elsewhere and found very mixed opinions, crashes and instability seem common.
I am using a G4 933MHz with OSX 10.4.11
Any advice or help would be appreciated. Thanks,
Bo

I have run Peak 4 (G4+) on this very 1 GHZ G4 for years, and I don't recall ever having a crash or a hang.

Take a look at Kristal, it is a shareware program but very powerful. I had a lot of luck with it even over the expensive software versions that I had bought and it seems to do everything a person needs

George, Thanks for the info . Are you running OSX or 9?
Most of the 'crash' comments refer to Bias Deck. Bias now offer Peak LE6 and say that it is for OSX, Does this mean that some people have had problems?

Olddude, the G4 Mac is not on line and downloading software can be a difficult process. I have to pick it up on this very old mac and hope to be able to tranfer it to the studio machine. I will have a look at Kristal.

Any more info will be much apreciated. Bo
