Hello :)

Can anyone help me identify some of these jigs please? Kilter Cielidh are hopefully playing at my wedding and I would like to attempt to learn these jigs so I could maybe play along with them for Strip the Willow.

I know Morrisons Jig is in there and I recognise another after that but some of the others are new to me.

Kilter Ceilidh - Strip the Willow

Thankyou in advance :)

That Line-up desperately needs a bass line. No bottom end at all.

Maybe I should take my bass instead of the Low D then :P

The accordian player has one of those clever pedals that mimics bass that he said he'd use for our gig.

Anyone about who recognises any of the tunes? :)

Dunno the first.

1:10 - Morrison's Jig.

2:00 - Thunderhead.

2.48 - Drummond Castle, a jig version of Tha mi sgith/Cutting Bracken

3:50 - dunno, maybe one of their own tunes? odd interlude.

4:40 - in reel time. familiar but I can't name it.

5:12 - Miss Susan Cooper, a reel again.

It's pretty odd as a Strip the Willow set.

First one is familiar but can't place it, if it comes to me I'll let you know.

3:50 is James Brown's March by Michael McGoldrick
4:40 is Noon Lassies, a Fermanagh/south Tyrone fiddle tune according to thesession.org: mind you, that's the same thesession.org that also reckons John Kirkpatrick's 'Jump At The Sun' is a traditional Irish tune ...

both the above are played as a set on Michael McGoldrick's CD Fused.

First tune is Boys Of The Puddle by John McCusker.
