We Are Together, which is about the children's choir of Agape AIDS Orphange in Natal, South Africa, is being screened by British tv Channel 4 on Friday May 8th, 09-30 British Summer Time.

Briefly, Agape was set up to look after the orphaned children of AIDS victims. It is chronically short of cash (what worthwhile charity isn't?) so the choir was founded to raise funds.

Having seen the programme before, I can testify that the choir is wonderful, the documentary deals with the realities of living with AIDS in a remarkably sensitive manner, and the whole thing constitutes one of the most moving pieces of television I have ever seen. You will need:-

- at least three boxes of tissues to get through it, and

- your credit card, to order the CD - also called We Are Together - which is recorded during the course of the programme. The CD is available through CD Baby and Amazon. It makes a rare change to be able to listen to a stack of gorgeous singing, and know the money you spent is doing some good.

Screened at that time in the morning it's not going to get many viewers.
Why can't they show this in the evening slot that it deserves!

I agree, it deserves a much bigger audience. However, to be fair to Channel 4, they showed it in an evening slot just a few months ago. The best thing is to record it and watch it at your convenience.

An additional thought. The film, We Are Together is available on DVD, as is the CD, also called WAT. All royalties from the CD go towards the Agape Children's Home. I don't know whether the same situation applies to the DVD, but I would imagine so.
