Subject: RE: Jolly music From: GUEST,mg Date: 06 May 09 - 03:52 PM It is an idea whose time has come. Also on some sort of funny video program on TV there was a young German??? boy playing accordian to some pigs who were biting his toes. He looked about 3 years old but could have been 8 or so I guess with a real baby face..but boy was he a good accordian player. lmg |

Subject: Jolly music From: GUEST,mg Date: 06 May 09 - 03:32 PM Here is some for Cornish May Day.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMKi2jhlLLI&feature=related Now, whenever there is a discussion about some of the purposes of music, jolliness never seems to be brought up, but surely that has to be one of the main reasons. I have never thought that the purpose of music at all was to make people angry, sad, etc., although certainly it can...but I think it should at least some of the time make us happy.....sadness is all around us and I can't believe too many people need more of it...mg |
