It's that time of year again folks!!! The annual folk BBQ will be on 14th June. Usual setup - bring and burn and I'll lay on the salads, bread etc plus 5 gallons of homebrew. All 'catters welcome. For those of you who would like to come but haven't been before please PM me for details. (And I know it clashes with other events but so do most events at this time of year)

Refreshing (just like the rain at the moment).Richard, as most of the hecklers from Pigs Ear will be there will we get a repeat of your Pigs Ear performance? If so I may have to start charging admittance to keep the numbers of adoring fans down. Hope to see as many of you there as can make it. Hopefully the weather will be dry but we plenty of shelter otherwise.

Billy and I are babysitting Bunny and Prue this weekend as our daughter and husband are of to London for a special night out at Clarages( how do you spell that, never been there and cant spell!)

However plans are afoot for John Barden to sing in our garden on July 18th, who can come??

The 18th is a "house" ( in marquee) concert with John Barden, but in the past have then carried on into the wee small hours as a sing along,Billy does a barby and we provide the food, everyone brings their own drink. Usually we start early evening.A few beds provided or loads of floor space.( or Dave Bryants boat is on the drive with a bunk or two!!!!) Girl Friday has been to one so she can say how good, or bad, they are!
Yes the garden is behind our house and our house is near Walton on the Naze, and the concerts started because we all had withdrawal symptoms when the Walton Festival died, so we try to get together a couple of times a year.everyone welcome and you dont need a passport to cross over to Essex!

Quite right. Trevor, Ben. James and myself came up to the one with The Amazing Mr Smith. It was the last time that I saw Viva, and she was so pleased to see a familiar face.Billybob's garden is quite big, and there is plenty of room inside and out of the marquee. Bill's barbie is excellent and the closest thing to his shed is that of Dillygaf's at the last barbecue - if you get my drift.

I can come but I will have to go to work at about 4.30. I wont be able to bring a Instument because Iam not allowed to bring instuments to work anymore due to being caught to many times at night playing them when I should be working so I am not allowed to take instuments In. Thats all there is to it(Bloody fasists)

I will be Knockholt on the Wednesday.
The only way I can bring a Guitar with me to the BBQ is to arrive with it at Linda,s and ask politely if some one will take it to Knockholt for me?

Hey a BBQ for my Birthday - what great idea. I was born in Essex 50 odd years ago but have lived in Australia since the 60's. I've often wondered what folk music is played around Essex and in my few trips I have tried (not very successfully) to find a session. As for the weather it's a problem the world over, when I left home a few days ago it was cold and wet and threatening to snow. Only a few months ago it was 40+ degrees and threatening to burst into flames. I'm in Thailand at the moment where it's hot and wet and threatening to rain.

But there is always time for a tune and song so enjoy your BBQ and my birthday and have a drink for me please.

This has been the worst year for us, and it doesn't look like changing.

Still, on the bright side. You home brew should last considerably longer through Knockholt, without my customary consumption.
