He's just jealous. Melodeons are louder and if they're out of tune it's not the player's fault.

I can think of lots of good melodeon players (including Rich), which suggests that the problem is the guys (and gals) who play badly... so you could adapt the Artful Codger's idea, and burn the guy on Bonfire Night rather than the instrument?

Personally, I think the Melodians recording of Rivers of Babylon is a stunning all time classic, and any suggestion of burning it would be extremmely regrettable.

I've stood and listened to some of the best music ever outside Strasbourg Cathedral.
However, back home in Wood Green Shopping City, the Romanians still turn up following their victory over the jobsworth police, playing lots of stuff on violins and squeezy things.

Bad idea!

Last week I was visiting the cathedral in Strasbourg. To be specific, I was standing at the edge of an aisle, admiring the western window. A guide decided that I (a heavy, nearsighted woman with a cane) was in her way, and she charged up to me, waving a stick in my face. I responded in the only rational way - I spun around and snarled at her.

I left the cathedral and paused in the square to calm down. Across the square, a gypsy was playing the melodeon. That music floated through the sunny air, so friendly and tranquil. It was just what I needed after the unchristian behavior of that guide.

The world needs more music like that.
