Subject: RE: Fishguard Folk Festival - May 22-25 From: Dame Pattie Smith EPNS Date: 21 May 09 - 08:02 PM Do you think we should have a Mudgather there? We seem to have a quorum. |
Subject: RE: Fishguard Folk Festival - May 22-25 From: Splott Man Date: 21 May 09 - 04:14 PM Myself and the Dame will be there again - uninterrupted by other gigs this year. Monday afternoon in the marquee is our main spot, but we'll be all over the sessions like a rash. If you're going there from the east, take a detour via the village of Rosebush and have a pint in the remarkable Tafarn Sinc (Zinc Tavern). Splott Man |
Subject: RE: Fishguard Folk Festival - May 22-25 From: RoyH (Burl) Date: 21 May 09 - 02:21 PM Go there folks, and enjoy splendid singing by Mainbrace. Fine voices and repertoire, and a no-nonsense approach to performing that gives audiences huge value for their money. Don't miss 'em. |

Subject: Fishguard Folk Festival - May 22-25 From: Gervase Date: 20 May 09 - 10:52 AM The orgainisers have been most remiss in advertising this excellent little festival ;-) It's being held this Bank Holiday weekend in and around the picturesque Pembrokeshire town of Fishguard. Being so far west, it's nearer Ireland than London, and so has a strong Irish flavour. This year's festival has sessions, singarounds, dances and concerts galore, including appearances by Kevin Dempsey, Néillidh and Fiachra Mulligan, Vicki Swan & Jonny Dyer, Nick Wyke & Becki Driscoll, the legendary Sue Harris and many more. Details can be found here. The song sessions in the fabulously unspoiled Ship Inn in Lower Town are worth the trip alone. |
