Nancy & James are warm and compelling singers, solo & in harmony, as well as being gifted teachers. Harmony singing is in their blood – both have grown up singing with their families and now enjoy sharing the principles of enjoyable and dynamic group singing. Many singers say they have made significant breakthroughs in their understanding of harmony when attending one of Nancy and James's singing workshops.
The workshop will focus on enabling participants to create and apply their own harmonies and arrangement styles to folk songs. Nancy and James will also be teaching some great rounds and building multiple harmony parts for several songs. The workshop will demystify the art of harmony singing and confirm that group singing can be a uniquely uplifting experience.

Actually this one's on Sunday 7th. June. It'll be taught by ear, so there won't be music in advance, but if you're coming ot one of the three Saturday workshops why not make a weekend of it?

The whole weekend was superb. We had 65 people taking part in the five all-day workshops run by Nancy Kerr, James Fagan and Rob Harbron, and 78 people in the folk club for their evening performance - a lot of people had to be turned away as even our new and bigger room was filled to capacity.

Huge thanks to Nancy, James and Rob for their hard work and brilliant musicianship.

If you're one of the unfortunates who couldn't get in, try their joint CD Station House .

Or try it anyway - it's terrific.

Cor, thanks, Vic - that's praise from a man with a long - and continuing - history of running excellent folk clubs and a deep understanding of what makes them work.

I was one of three people who came from Oxford for the Kerr/Fagan workshops. We had a great time.
