Subject: Lyr Req: Tired Old Man at the Bar From: peregrina Date: 20 May 09 - 04:49 PM A few years ago Jeff Wesley sang a song with this name at Whitby FW. It was written by someone he knew and hadn't been recorded when I last searched. It's a first person narrative of a man's life, from his youth as a farm-hand in the days of horses to the arrival of tractors and demise of horses, and then a triumphant return for the farm horse as oil runs out. The title comes from a line in the chorus, the way the old man is ridiculed for his age and old-fashioned experience. Does anyone know the lyrics, or who wrote it, or whether it's been recorded anywhere? |
