I played a friend's Vintage V300 acoustic (with a mahogany top) recently. A very big sound, lovely full tone and I was impressed. He'd recently bought it and asked me to guess how much he'd paid....I guessed £350 but I was wrong by a factor of nearly three....at around £120 it's an absolute steal. The shop even put on a new set of Elixir strings....

Depends what you mean by vintage?

I has 2 pre CBS strat and a '56 Les Paul Junior that were superb..

Also had a Vintage brand made National Steel copy that was really good.

Their acoustics mostly sound like old socks. If you can get a Vantage (made by Korg) that's quite a different kettle of fish, however.

including tele, strat, Les Paul, LP Junior copies.

mostly more recent upgraded models equipped with stock Wilkinson hardware..

i particularly like the tele copies !!!

..if you mean "Vintage" brand guitars by JHS;
then there is a consensus of opinion that they can be very reasonable quality, excellent value for money instruments.
As good as, or even better than, some overpriced 'name' brands.

I own several of their different models of solid body electrics,
and will continue to collect/use even more,
as often as I can find them at bargain 2nd hand or 'B' stock prices.
Consequently, I'm willing to overlook any occasional minor finish flaws
or dodgy wiring/screening.

..also, the bodies and necks offer excellent potential for modding
and customising..

Yes, and yes, but everyone's taste is different. Try 'em out and see if you like 'em.

I saw a couple of these very reasonably priced guitars in a local shop window. They looked great but it was closed at the time.
Any 'Catters played one/ Got one?
Comments invited.
