Hi All

Glaisdale Sunday is back on, after last years little hiccup Christine and I went to see the landlady, Marie, last week. She has placed the date in her diary for Sunday August 23. The train should leave Whitby at 12.40 and arrive in Glaisdale about 1.05ish the return train leave Glaisdale about 4.30 arriving Whitby about 5pm (Train times approx new timetable not available yet) As in previous years we will have a raffle and collection for the Runswick Bay Rescue Boat. See you all then (we will check periodically with Marie to make sure things are still OK !)

Alan is arranging to take Skylark fishing for a day trip on 17 June, and indicated there are places available. I know no details, and don't intend going myself, but said I would mention it to you.

Have a word with Alan if you fancy a trip.

I intend to try and work with them rather than out-sing them, I have to work on the basis that they are there week in week out, and at the end of the day it is a pub not a folk club, Much as I find it annoying as you do I can do no other.

In my experiance of that pub the other regulars show us that.

Just a note, I have been given several models of RNLI vehicles from the late and much lamented Colin Kemp, we will be auctioning them on the day with all monies going to the Runswick Bay Rescue Boat

There you go, there has been some upheaval recently at Runswick with the future of the boat in doubt at some stages, HOWEVER everything is back on a even keel, some new committee members, some extra crew, more training being undertaken, basically a whole fresh impetus to the rescue boat, that should see it continuing for many years to come. We should not undervalue the colossal amount of work put in by previous crew and committee they have kept this wonderful service going for 27 years.

I've checked again with the staff at the Arncliff Arms and we're still booked in!

It is now traditional for Leaving Nancy to be sung (by Ossenflags)as we approach Whitby on the return journey, hopefully he and I can ensure the last notes are sung as we touch the buffers
