Subject: RE: Singing Class @ Elkins Irish Week From: Stewart Date: 01 Jun 09 - 12:08 AM About 6 years ago I attended Irish Week at the Augusta Heritage Center. I was so impressed with it that I wrote a review of it here. It was one of the best music camps I've experienced. I highly recommend it. Mick Moloney does a great job and gets some of the best instructors. And it's in a beautiful location. Cheers, S. in Seattle |
Subject: Elkins Irish Week - Singing Class From: Liam's Brother Date: 31 May 09 - 11:30 PM I'd just like to mention that I'll be teaching "How to Find Your Own Voice in Irish Traditional Song" at the Augusta Heritage Center's Irish Week. The class is an overview of English-language Irish song both in Ireland and its diaspora, coupled with simple research methods to locate interesting and personally suitable songs, and to build repertoire. Depending on class size, some individual instruction might be possible. There are also evening singing sessions and plenty of other activities. Irish Week runs July 19 - 24, 2009. For those who might not know, the August Heritage Center is located at Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, West Virginia. If you know someone who might benefit from such a course and who might be available, you might pass along this information. The website is www.augustaheritage.com/irish.html All the best, Dan Milner |
